Dick McLean participates in the management of TMI while bringing to the agency his extensive background in sales promotion, sales communication and packaged goods marketing. He combines consumer promotion experience and a deep knowledge of foodservice marketing with trade marketing to help craft tactical programs.
Dick has served as Promotion Director for national advertising agencies as well as pioneering trade-oriented marketing with his own organization. His experience in working with brokers as well as headquarters and field sales ensures that communications with the trade are done in “their own language”. One of his strengths is the tactical execution of programs through different marketing channels.
McLean has worked with major packaged goods companies such as Del Monte Foods, Clorox, Nestle USA and Ralston Purina as well as with communications and banking entities including Sprint and Bank of America.
Dick holds a BA from Stanford University. He teaches seminars on sales promotion for the San Francisco Advertising Club, lectures nationally and is on the Guest Faculty at the U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business.
